For the ones who live in the in-between — where the love is loud, the moments are soft, and the story is already worth remembering.
queer nostalgic DOCUMENTARY-STYLE PHOTOGRAPHY
If your idea of a “perfect” wedding includes thrifted suits, shared tattoos, maybe a joint at sunset, and a guest list that actually knows your middle name — That’s the good shit — and that’s what I’m here for.
You’re not planning a production. You’re building a day that feels like home — mismatched plates, chosen family, bad dance moves, and one long table at your favorite sushi bar. Period.
You’re queer (or love someone who is), a little unhinged, chronically nostalgic, and deeply present. You want photos that feel like film stills — grainy, emotional, a little off-center, and full of life.
You want photos that feel like the crack in your voice when you read old love notes out loud. The kind you come back to yearssss from now and still feel in your gut.
(who will most definitely cry at your ceremony, dance at your reception like it’s nobody’s business, and probably scream when your dog shows up for portraits — don’t say I didn’t warn ya).
I’ve photographed over 150 weddings in the past two years (I know, it’s borderline concerning)— and not a single one has looked or felt the same.
I show up with curiosity, intuition, and the goal of making you feel so comfortable, you forget the camera’s even there.
You’ll usually find me directing your grandma to the dance floor, playing “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield during golden hour portraits, and handing you a Diet Coke while you take a deep breath before your first look.
I bring the chill when things feel chaotic and the energy when it’s time to turn up.
“She has such a vision for photos and has a way of capturing love unlike any other photographer I’ve seen!”
“100% would pick Madalyn 100x over. She captured our love in a way I've never seen before — and kept us laughing the entire time.”
I’ll guide you when you need it, disappear when you don’t, and quietly make sure you always have a drink in hand and lipstick on your teeth only when it’s intentional.
If you’re skipping the wedding party, writing your own vows, printing your invites at FedEx, and showing up fully as yourself — messy, radiant, real — I’m already packing my bags.
I photograph weddings, elopements, and couples sessions for people who don’t see themselves in traditional wedding magazines — and honestly, don’t care to.
If you're getting married barefoot in your parents' backyard, exchanging vows over takeout sushi, or slow-dancing in your living room with your cats watching from the couch — I’m in.
“Madalyn was awesome and professional. She knew exactly how to direct us and is suppppppper friendly and funny! I appreciate an honest photographer who can direct but still keep the mood light, and she did exactly that! I love our photos :) and I wouldn't hesitate working with her again!”
“The kind of photographer you want around all day.”
